Stone Junction
Daniel, the main character, goes through a series of teachers for the first part of the book, who teach him a number of skills that flirt
with the supernatural. Mystical is probably an appropriate word. And these teachers dispense knowledge in all sorts of pithy little
lines. This book sets its own terms, existing somewhere in the lands of political fantasy--if such a geography exists. Here lives an
underground and ancient, loosly-organized collaboration among those who have always lived outside the law. This loose confederation of
anarchists, magicians, gamblers, alchemists--and others who live in a counter-economy//counter culture--has its own codes of honor which
easily substitutes for rules.
This organization and the characters that interact with it are the protagonists of this lively tale. And the anarchic assumptions by which
these folks measure their actions are a big part of the charm of this book. I was drawn in from the start and held attentive until the
end. This book is fun and worth your time.
Oliver Twist
The story of Oliver Twist - orphaned, and set upon by evil and adversity from his first breath - shocked readers when it was published. After running away from the workhouse and pompous beadle Mr Bumble, Oliver finds himself lured into a den of thieves peopled by vivid and memorable characters - the Artful Dodger, vicious burglar Bill Sikes, his dog Bull's Eye, and prostitute Nancy, all watched over by cunning master-thief Fagin. Combining elements of Gothic Romance, the Newgate Novel and popular melodrama, Dickens created an entirely new kind of fiction, scathing in its indictment of a cruel society, and pervaded by an unforgettable sense of threat and mystery.
Les frères Karamazov I
The Brothers Karamasov is a murder mystery, a courtroom drama, and an exploration of erotic rivalry in a series of triangular love affairs
involving the “wicked and sentimental” Fyodor Pavlovich Karamazov and his three sons―the impulsive and sensual Dmitri; the coldly rational
Ivan; and the healthy, red-cheeked young novice Alyosha. Through the gripping events of their story, Dostoevsky portrays the whole of
Russian life, is social and spiritual striving, in what was both the golden age and a tragic turning point in Russian culture.
This award-winning translation by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky remains true to the verbal
inventiveness of Dostoevsky’s prose, preserving the multiple voices, the humor, and the surprising modernity of the original. It is an
achievement worthy of Dostoevsky’s last and greatest novel.

Le désert de Bièvres
Flash ou le grand voyage
Dramatic. Shocking. Genuine. These are the words that emphasize this review, because these are the perfect words to describe this book. It
is particularly important young people read it, lest they fall into the temptation of this addiction that is always around. It is an
excellent trip to a world through the eyes of a person consumed by drugs, who ends up living various amazing adventures.
It talks about many adventures and different countries and cultures, but it reminds always our culture and country, in my opinion. It is all
the same with some small differences. We all do mistakes. Some of us small and the other big mistakes, but we are all the same and we
usually do the same this. This story proves us that. And just think about the fact of the main character being kinda real... Interesting,
isn't it?
This is a book that takes us into the abyss, driven by self-diegetic narrator. Luckily none of us know the end of that abyss, but we all
know the way to get there and we get to know more or less how it is...
Read this book and make an authentic trip through the world of drugs, getting to know every alley, every corner and every feature more
closely, without damaging your body and mind to become addicted to the chemicals described. Make this trip and understand every word without
need rehabilitation laterI
